Whats With The Weather?

If you don’t already know, The Dead Weather are a newly formed super-group who last week released their debut album ‘Horehound’. No strangers to big releases the band are made up of members from The White Stripes, The Kills, The Raconteurs and Queens Of The Stone Age. Most notably, Jack White (White Stripes / Raconteurs) and Alison Mosshart (The Kills).

I was a little dubious at first as super-groups are always hit or miss if you ask me, but with talent such as White and Mosshart on board you can’t go wrong really. I don’t know what I was thinking.

To get you started I’ve got two tracks to share. The first is a cover of Gary Numan’s ‘Are Friends Electric?’ which features as a B-Side on their first single. And before you ask, if you recognise the track and you don’t know anything about Gary Numan (except ‘Cars’ of course) – Firstly, Shame on you. Secondly, Yes a sample from it was used in the Sugababes number one single, ‘Freak Like Me’.

The second track is from the album, but touched up by the magical handed man that is Diplo. Its heavy.
