October 25th brings the release of a new DJ Kicks album, this time sculpted by German techno / ambient beats legend, Apparat.
I have for you today – “Sayulita” his exclusive contribution to the mix, described perfectly by the guys at Dj-Kicks as:
“A 130bpm track that he admits contains the elements he was embracing at the time. Harnessing the shaky, organic percussion, big hoover like bass sounds and the erratic guitar chops that cut through the rising pads it blends somewhat brilliantly with Joy Orbison’s “The Shrew Would Have Cushioned The Blow” on the mix but also manages to stand up to repeated listens on its own”
Intrigued? You should be, its a corker.

And while we’re here, I came across the little beauty below on the Dj-Kicks blog, linked into Apparat’s mix due to Four Tets appearance. There have been alot of average to rubbish attempts at remixing The XX of late, infact I don’t think I’ve come across even one that I truly love, until now. And of course, its by Four Tet. Enjoy.
